Jungle Don Mature ......... Tuface Speaks Back

Sometime ago, We reported an accusation by Komoblastic, that Tuface "stole" a song that was written by him.

Since then, Hypertek Entertainmnet, the outfit that manages Tuface's affair has released a press statement to address the issue. Read On......

”Initially, we did not want to glorify Komo by joining issues with him, but we also know that if a lie is told repeatedly without a challenge, it will in no

time assume the status of truth. Hence, we have decided to respond to the allegation once and for all. The song in question was originally produced by

J.Sleek and taken to London for mixing and mastering, before Tuface met Komo in London.”

In the release, Tuface did not deny knowing Komoblastic for a long time and it was during their meeting in London that Tuface was told that Komo also

had a song with the same title.

”Since Komo had a song titled ‘Jungle Don Mature,‘ it naturally became the choice song. He was then asked to do a rap session, which he did. The

producers that worked on Unstoppable said that the quality of Komo‘s rap was not good enough for an international artiste of 2face’s standing, so his rap

was deleted.”

It was also stated that all attempts made by Tuface‘s manager, Wale Nathaniel to inform Komo of the decision to drop his rap and the plan by Tuface to

join him in the studio to produce a remix of his own version of the song was frustrated, as nobody could reach him after several telephone calls.

”Tuface did all this as his own little way of appreciating a long-standing relationship, more so, it was a gesture intended to help a brother man whose

career has not blossomed as expected" It included but It must be said that aside all of these, no one can lay claim to intellectual ownership of a street slang

like ‘no shaking’, ‘nothing dey happen’, ‘yes o’ and even ‘jungle don mature.’ "We make bold to say that Jungle Don Mature was written by Tuface. Komo

is still travelling on a familiar terrain. He had a similar feud with Dr. Fresh some years ago.”,the press release affirmed.

Nigerian R'n'B artist DK releases debut video "Shake"

While more and more people are realising that hip-hop is an international music form which can be found in every part of the world, R’n’B on the other hand is still associated predominately with American superstars, such as R Kelly and Usher. But it’s now time to welcome a hot, new talent to the emerging African R’n’B scene, already being hailed as the “African Ne-Yo”: His name is DK, aka Don Kolionny.

Born Kola Olatunji in Lagos, Nigeria, DK’s love with music started at the tender age of 10 when he was the youngest member of his secondary school choir.  Through his father’s record collection he was exposed to different styles of music as a child, such as Fela Kuti, Bob Marley, Michael Jackson, Marvin Gaye, King Sunny Ade as well as Gospel artists.  DK started writing songs aged 15 and his first live performance was at Lekki Beach Carnival in Lagos with Green Squad, a group which included his brother TK Rosky and friend Drillz. His songwriting talents developed further when he started playing the keyboard.

On relocating to London in 2002 DK’s love for music flourished and he performed at open mic events at bars and clubs, including the well-known Suga Suga in London’s West End.  DK also began making beats and eventually met a producer (Boogi3) with whom he co-produced some of the songs for his forthcoming album. One of these songs, “2Nite”, has already been featured on BBC 1Xtra on the UK Homegrown radio show, presented by taste-making DJ Ras Kwame.  A major influence on DK’s music includes R. Kelly’s style of free-flowing R’n’B and Maxwell’s smooth Soul delivery. DK has developed a powerful, unique song-writing and singing style that enables him to deliver smooth R’n’B songs and hard-hitting party jams with ease.  DK’s lyrics are made up of a blend of English and his native Yoruba language.

“Shake” is DK’s debut single.  It’s a feel-good party song which, according to the new R’n’B artist, invites the ladies to dance and shake to his infectious flow and to party with DK.  The video was produced and directed by Mr Skillz (aka JJC) and is already blowing up on Nigerian and UK TV, including MTV Base Africa, Nigezie, BEN TV, Monster TV, Primetime Jamz, Galaxy, AIT International, TV Intercontinental, Silverbird and Sound City, whilst the song is getting airplay on numerous stations, including BBC 1Xtra.

Nollywood actor, Jim Iyke is preparing to debut as a rap artiste. we gather that Nollywood’s bad boy is currently in the studios putting finishing touches to his yet untitled rap album.

Those who have been previledged to hear some of his recordings say that fans would be blown away by jim iyke’s extraordinary rap talent. critics on the other hand wonder if the nollywood actor turned singer would be highly embraced by the hihop community or join the rest of “failed nollywood musicians”

You would recall that the likes of Osuofia, Ramsey Nouah, Shan George, Genevieve Nnaji, Omotola, Mr. Ibu, Segun Arinze, Desmond Elliot having tried to have a peice to the “highly lucrative” music industry but to no avail. we hope jimmy boy will break the jinx.
